Great lamp, but you'll need to buy a seperate bulb for it
While this is a wonderful lamp, I do have to be honest about the foolishness of it coming with a fluorescent bulb. After I put it together, I found out that the bulb packed with the lamp was cracked from being crammed into the styrofoam packing with the rest of the lamp. It really was not a good idea, since the bulb cracked when I carefully tried to open the packaging around the bulb. I didn't even get that far in the process before I heard that awful cracking sound.

This is a very crucial point to make because of the mercury powder inside the bulb. I had to carefully put the bulb--still in its packaging--in a plastic bag and put it in my storage area because I did not want my kid inhaling this very toxic material. (I'll have to take it to the solid waste management service in my town to safely dispose of this hazardous waste tomorrow morning.)

Whatever you do, err on the side of caution and go to a local hardware store to get the replacement bulb rather than order it online. It's much safer that way, especially with the whole interstate shipping process. Were it not for this one important issue, I'd give this lamp a five-star rating. It is really a nice bit of hardware, especially when it's put together according to the instructions. It's good to have actual written assembly instructions instead of some cheap drawings with arrows to tell you what to do. Everything works just the way it's supposed to (that is, once I went to a local home improvement store and bought a couple of bulbs, just in case).

Apart from the caveats I mentioned, this is a wonderful product and would recommend it to my friends...with the proper cautions, of course.

quality control problem
Lamp appears to be nearly perfect for my application, but my Amazon purchase arrived with a minor but fatal manufacturing flaw: Although the assembly directions for the pole sections stress caution against cross-threading, one of the sockets itself was already cross-threaded so that the assembled pole was not straight. Return to Amazon was simple and quick, but the replacement lamp suffered from the same flaw. The second return was equally expeditious, but Amazon was unwilling to send a third. The base is very heavy, and postage must be considerable.
At this writing, Amazon only makes this item available from a 3rd party at more than twice the cost after shipping.

Beautiful!
The nativity set is lovely! It looks just like the photo. The pieces are larger and heavier than expected - this is a substantial set. It looks beautiful under the Christmas tree. The backdrop is made of heavy gold-painted cardboard, but it doesn't look cheap.

Very nice set
This is a very nice set for the price. We have been shopping for a nativity scene and have seen many other sets that are much more expensive and not nearly as nice. It is ceramic or some similar material, by the way (since it is not listed in the description). The pieces are a little larger than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. The colors are accurate to the photo and the wording on each stands out nicely and is what makes this set so unique. The backdrop is fragile and either VERY VERY lightweight wood or heavy painted cardboard, I'm not sure which. One of the pieces was broken upon arrival, but that will be a separate issue for us and hopefully can be resolved quickly. I am very pleased to display this set during the holidays.

Great Value!
The stands are great. Very sturdy and they look good. Easy to assemble and easy to position. I highly recommend these stands for anyone who is looking to purchase good speaker stands at a decent price.

Cheap and not bad at all
These stands look OK, they work, and they weren't ridiculously expensive. That was all I wanted. I had to play around with the assembly a bit because my speakers are not standard, but I got them on eventually. Definitely a good buy for 30 to 40 bucks. I do not regret my purchase.

cheap
I bought one set after reading the first review and was going to give them as a gift for a friend's wedding. But they look pretty rough and the color is lighter than in the picture. Don't know what to do with them now. Probably not as a gift...

Nice, but misleading picture
These are extremely nice. My only issue with them are that the wreaths are nothing like what is shown. The "wreaths" are red holly berries in cheap greenery. The wreaths are hot glued on, so I pulled them off and now they're perfect for gifts. They could easily pass for twenty dollars each, instead of all three being twenty. Also, the glass votives are a cheap glass, poor quality; I threw them away.
