Outstanding Product
I just purchased the 2 oz espresso glasses and I love them. They are as beautiful in person as they are in the picture. My personal preference would have been to have them be a bit heaver, something that's heavy strikes me as being quality but nonetheless these look amazing. A hot shot of espresso doesn't permeate the double wall meaning that tasty drink stays hotter longer.

Would I purchase again? YES !!!!

Make a nice Holiday table setting

Hard to clean top prevents it from becoming my favorite mug
I received this recently at one of our 'secret Santa' Christmas get-togethers. Up until then, I've been using the Thermos Nissan 18-Ounce Stainless-Steel Insulated Travel Tumbler almost exclusively for the past several months. I am pleased with the Thermos but I welcomed having two good-quality coffee mugs so I didn't have to wash the mug every morning before filling it up - with 2 I would do it every other morning, I thought. I will not do a comparison between the two, I only wanted to note that we do have choices when it comes to quality travel mugs these days and some are better than others.

I will enumerate some of the OXO features and my verdict will follow:

+ 14 oz. mug with a grooved plastic lid that closes tight
+ the body is double-walled steel with vacuum so it keeps a beverage close to the initial temperature for a reasonable amount of time
= fits nicely in my car's cup holder but, being as tall as it is, it may not be too stable in some of the shallower ones
- a sealing mechanism with several moving and hidden parts of which the on-off clicking button is visible at the top can not be cleaned easily and, if your coffee has milk-cream some very unpleasant deposits can accumulate inside
- the junction between the plastic upper ring and the steel bottom makes cleaning the inside difficult as well - the top plastic band is narrower than the steel lower body, meaning that there is an interior 'ledge' that had to be carefully cleaned or residue will accumulate

The big negative on this mug is what was supposed to distinguish it from 'the rest' - the top with its on/off seal button assembly. This makes the OXO not my 'first pick' whenever I have a choice of mugs. The only time I pick the OXO is when I forget to clean the Thermos the previous night (and the Thermos is very easy to clean) but, knowing what COULD reside under that on/off button seems to subtract from my coffee-drinking enjoyment.

If I was going to buy myself a third coffee mug, it would not be an OXO. I understand that it is POSSIBLE to clean the OXO very thoroughly but the cleaning is difficult and, for as long as there are better alternatives, most of us are likely to pick the better alternatives.

The OXO loses 2 stars because of the cleaning inconvenience, it keeps 3 because it does not spill and it keeps the coffee warm for a reasonably long time.

Love gone wrong.
First, I bought a red mug for myself. Later, a grey one for my husband. We loved the size, the good seal, and the sturdyness of the mugs. We made our own lattes here at home.

It appeared to be like heaven. We cleaned them by rinsing them (including lid) right after emptying them, and also putting them through the dishwasher each night.

Until the other day my husband said he was drinking his coffee and found a "chunk" come out of it. He was disgusted. So I set about cleaning the little buggers...

And there is no way in hell I could EVER take another drink from either of them, or buy another one of these mugs. I used some pipe cleaners and a good pull on the plunger to get up into the lid to clean it out...

OMG, it was the most disgusting thing. I seriously almost fainted when I realized WE WERE DRINKING OUT OF THIS THING.

Oh. My. God.

So I came to Amazon to order new mugs for us -- and happened to look this up and see that we are NOT the only people to have this problem!

Love them - Great Quality - Great Look
I read all of your reviews on Amazon, and being a new wine drinker went for the better glasses at the get go. I used the 4 for 3 promotion and bought 6 of these glasses as well as a Vinturi....

The glasses are awesome - they not only look great - out of the ordinary - but they fit in the dishwasher and the cabinets perfectly.

I always sit near a laptop while sipping my wine, and yes the stemmed glasses have tipped over on me a few times...luckily my laptops were saved. With these glasses I no longer will worry about tipping over a glass full of wine...

I love the look, the quality, and the design. Amazon price is exceptional.


Look Ma, no stems!
This is a regular Riedel varietal wine glass with the stem removed. We use them daily and like them because they take up less space in the dishwasher and seem somewhat less likely to tip over on the table. A friend thinks they are too fragile but we have lost only two in two years, one to my mishandling and another the cat batted off the counter.

Not just butterflies!
Nice set of dishes. But be advised... besides the butterflies the pattern includes a cute little honey bee. During dinner, it was a little unsettling to see out of the corner of my eye what might have been a fly on my plate! We still like the dishes but wish we had selected a different pattern.

Too fragile
These glasses are a great idea, a nice shape, and perfect for beer. They would get a five except they are both broken in two weeks time. They are ultra thin glass. One broke the first time it was used. Set it down on the granite counter a little too hard and it cracked. The second one broke when I dropped a really small ice cube into it. Just pop! Another one bites the dust.

Keep beer cold and surprisingly good-looking too
I bought these for my husband. He's a draft beer lover and I got them for him to use with his beloved Heineken mini-kegs. My thinking was that their ability to keep the beer cold would be a big plus. Now that we are using them, I have to say that's only one of the pluses. They definitely keep liquids as cold as when they go in. Beer doesn't lose its head as fast as in other glasses and it tastes great to the last drop because it is so cold. But there's more we have found we like about these glasses. For one thing, they weigh so little. A typical beer glass is made of much heavier, thicker glass, which sounds great until you lift it over and over. It's surprising what a more pleasant experience it is to lift such a light glass! Never really thought about it before now, but it makes a difference. Also, these glasses are beautiful. The space between the two walls is almost sculptural and the sloping shape is pretty to look at. Last, we have found that we really like the size. So many beer glasses are so tall, and these aren't. They hold 12 ounces, which is plenty for a serving -- who needs to have 20 ounces of beer all at once? These fit in our dishwasher and just really work for our needs.
