Details (1-year)
Reviews : A toned down GQ / Esquire
Details is much less indepth / informative as GQ or Esquire. The articles are shorter in length and not as journalistic. Articles are more about lifestyles and less about sports / women and cars. With reveiews that are typically a few paragraphs long. The magazine itselfs seems geared towards a younger male and a more metrosexual lifestyle. The price is right and for $10 it a great investment as you most likely find a few things each month of interest.
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty models.
There are lots of attractive males in this magazine that are usually wearing nice clothes. And there are some interesting articles once in a while. But the advertisements are aplenty. Even more than some gaming magazines!
That's all you see every 2 pages or so!
That gets boring after a while...
Good thing I didn't pay for this subscription. :^D
2 stars.
end note: the title to this review kinda copies a song by Fefe Dobson. :^-D

Harper's Magazine
Reviews : Still a great magazine
[Harpers began before the Civil War and is still a wonderful read, whatever the topic: politics, literature, fine or performing arts....everything!![ASIN:B00005N7QO Harper's Magazine]]
WARNING--DO NOT BUY THIS MAGAZINE SUB FROM AMAZON!!!
Harper's is a terrific magazine. Do NOT however, DO NOT, buy this magazine from Amazon!!! Here is why: the WAIT. Normally, when a person buys a magazine subscription, they get the first magazine the following month. AMAZON TAKES 4-5 MONTHS!!! I bought this subscription for my father whose birthday was in August. He called me in October to sheepishly ask where the magazine was. After complaining, Amazon said they would get it there by November. HUH???!!! Now, I just got an email saying they made an error and it would now ship SOMETIME IN JANUARY!!! Oh, but they were nice enough to make it up to me by offering me a free subscription to Inc. magazine!!! WTF???!!! What does Inc. have even remotely in common with Harpers?! I called Amazon customer service to cancel my order. After I post this, I am going to do what I should have done four months ago: order Harper's from Harper's.
CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

Forbes
Reviews : Reliable so far
I just received the first copy of my subscription made through amazon. So far so good -- the first copy came within around 4 weeks from the subscription date. Only concern is that they have sent me 2 forbes magazines which i hadn't requested (forbes life and forbes investment guide, both for the current month) . Hopefully they don't count this to the total number of issues!
Not As Good As It Used to Be -- Still the Best
I agree that it's not as good as it used to be, but it's still the best. It seems that there has been an across-the-board change toward the 30-second sound bites. You only see some of that in Forbes, but it's annoying. If I want that, I can go online to any of the major news networks.
Forbes still has the best financial and business analysis for the U.S. The Economist might edge it out on international issues, but that's not an apples-to-apples comparison. It beats Business Week and the other domestic rags.
The only complaint is the number of multi-page ads in the middle of the story and it being hard to see where the ad ends and the story continues. That may be by design, but it's annoying.
Another good thing about Forbes is that it's written well. It's like the Atlantic for the business world. I currently subscribe to both and have subscribed, at one time or another, to the other magazines that I've mentioned as well.
