Interesting for the beginner, something to aspire to
I am just starting my yoga practice, and as I looked for more details of poses and such online after class, I kept ending up on the YogaJournal.com website. Last time grocery shopping I picked up a copy, couldn't put it down, and ordered a subscription. As a beginner I have found it VERY interesting with articles on how yoga is helping patients mentally and physically with breast cancer, common sense articles on herbs for ailments AND yoga poses to ease an ailment also, many others--I read it literally cover to cover. I found it really helpful to go from class (a bunch of ladies bonding over our struggles to balance or stay in a pose) to how the rest of the (yoga) world perceives/practices/enriches through yoga! I found it perfectly readable for a complete beginner to augment class instruction (oooh the possibilities!!!) to wanting to set it aside and review as I get further along in the future. And their website is a wealth of information as well.

Excellent value
I bought this magazine for my husband for Christmas. He loves it! He's read it from cover to cover and back again. It is packed full with information, plus it has links to their web for more information and downloadable maps. This is a great value and will inspire anyone to get outdoors and start hiking.

It's a dreambook for avid hikers and backpackers
Every month I look forward to receiving Backpacker,and usually read every word of it (except the annual Gear Issue, in which I tend to cherry-pick information that's of interest). There's also a down side, however, as I always read the trip descriptions, gaze at the enticing photos, and find myself pining to get out and do every trip described (and more), which can be frustrating! Anyone with even a remote interest in getting out and enjoying the wilderness on foot will find inspiration here.

Received two issues so far. Magazine is packed with 4 and 5 star information and as most magazines like this, too many advertisements.
I do enjoy reading it.

Do You Like Ads?
Way too many ads in this magazine and not enough travel content for the regular traveler. I won't renew this subscription when it's time.
